I nominate Jeane's revelation in No More Heroes for most jaw dropping sequence.

Crysis - The intro which leads right into the game. I couldn't believe what I saw. No loading screen, the game just starts.

Uncharted 2 - The build and the helicopter of course. That almost blew my mind.

Wind Waker - The final battle with Ganon on top of Hyrule Castle.

So close, but for me it was the moment I first entered ancient Hyrule frozen in time under the ocean.

The first time I played Super Mario World and saw the world map. Holy Crap. It's one of those moments you wish you could keep reliving every time you play.

In Donkey Kong Country 2 a lot of the worlds were great, but the one that always caught my eye the most was Kremland. I mean look at that huge statue, who knows what's going to be in it?! It's massive!

Then you go in it! And it's just this wonderful and grand theme park you only get a small sample of! It's amazing!

I'm surprised I haven't seen this yet:

Also a really good one. I just find the final battle to be a bit better. The scale, what is happening and the battle itself.

There aren't enough hhhhnnngs in the world. Whatever the environment designers/artists are getting paid, it's not enough.

No sense of scale had been that great for me, even as a PC gamer going back to the 80s. Halo nailed it.

It doesn't look too great in an image these days, but in motion, especially the scene where Lake Hylia refills, still looks great to me.

The end of Sens Fortress in Dark Souls. It's a boss fight on top of the place you just spent hours going though.

I can't remember the name but there is a snowy location in Xenoblade that's just great.

Not a single mention of the most mind blowing Xenoblade moment, which was the secret locale at the top of the fingertip of the fallen hand. Now THAT shit was just breathtaking.

FFXII: Giruvegan, the moment you see the great crystal in the distance. The music and the scenary are amazing...never felt so absorbed by the aestethic of a game before.

FFXII could have been the best game of all time :(

I could easily fill this topic with Xenoblade stuff, but I'll limit myself to saying that emerging from Tephra Cave, heading over Kneecap Hill and seeing Gaur Plains spread out before me was stunning, once in a generation stuff.

Journey's sand surfing, too.

Shenmue 2 4th disc, it's all scenery. And the snowy parts of those games, the soundtrack adds much.

This was probably my favorite place in FFXII. I remember I got lost/annoyed, though, but it was so pretty. What track played in this dungeon? I can't seem to remember. A link would be nice ;)

YES!

Or later in the game when (spoiler) the mechonis comes to life and you can see it moving from the fallen hand far in the distance. The attention to detail of this game was mindblowing.
